In collaboration with the Institute for Integrated Production (IPH) in Hanover, the Institute of Transport and Automation Technology is launching the MouSe research project - a mobile, environment-monitoring sensor system for industrial trucks.

Visual visibility when operating industrial trucks remains a major challenge, particularly at intersections and when handling large loads. Our goal with MouSe is to develop a novel operator assistance system that significantly improves visibility for operators, thereby reducing accidents, repair costs, and downtime.

A particular highlight of our project is the research into using a drone for dynamic environmental detection. Detection algorithms are designed to enable the identification and classification of objects, people, and obstacles in real time. MouSe brings together expertise in electronics, sensor technology, mechanics, and computer science—an ideal foundation for interdisciplinary innovations in logistics.
