The scientific goal of the interdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center “Transregio 123 – Planar Optronic Systems” (PlanOS) is the integration of innovative as well as proven optical technologies into a single app. 100 µm thick polymer foil for the realization of large-scale, flexible sensor networks. We understand the term optronic as widely abandoning electronic components. Our emphasis lies on optical parameter conversion using photons. Applications of these optronic systems range from temperature, pressure, and strain measurements to the analysis of bio-chemical processes using spectroscopy. Light necessary for the measurements can be generated via organic light emitting diodes (emitter) directly on the polymer foil and received via organic solar cells (detector). [322]
