The increase of flexibility, safety and efficiency in processes of production, transport and handling are the main tasks of the Institute of Transport and Automation Technology (ITA). Due to the continuous increase in the requirements for transport and automation processes, the need for holistic solution approaches is growing. These approaches range from decision algorithms and circuit design to applications in intralogistics and manufacturing. Head of the institute is Professor Ludger Overmeyer.

Workplaces for up to 50 employees

The new office building was handed over to the IKK, headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Endres, by Mr. Horst Bauer – head of Department 3 - Building Management of the LUH – in January 2020. From now on up to 50 employees can advance the research in plastics technology and circular economy here.

The next steps during build-up of the institute founded in September 2019 will be the completion and start-up of the laboratory wing and the technical centre, which are scheduled for the first half-year of 2020.
